Position Summary:

Reporting to the ERP Senior Manager, the ERP Senior Specialist (FICO - Commercial) will play a pivotal role in building LivaNova’s long term commercial roadmap and its strategic execution. By collaborating with other IT and functional Business teams, this role will handle a broad range of system functions such as managing projects, enhancements, underlying compliance and infrastructure impacts, and ongoing maintenance operations in SAP S/4HANA and other systems / applications that SAP interfaces with. While the primary focus of this role is on commercial functions, involvement and active participation in the initiatives is also required.

General Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities of the ERP Senior Specialist (FICO - Commercial) will include the design and build of S/4HANA FICO configuration for both support and project-related activities. This resource will act as a key liaison between the SAP Finance team, other SAP teams (SD, MM, MDM, Security), other IT teams (Network security, infrastructure, information security and compliance) and the Finance and Controlling Business Teams to ensure quality outputs are delivered in a timely fashion and with no disruptions in other areas.

Specific Job Functions:

· A highly skilled and detail-oriented ERP FICO Specialist with experience of 15+ years with in-depth knowledge of Japan’s local tax regulations, compliance standards, and monthly invoice processing requirements. The ideal candidate will manage financial accounting (FI) and controlling (CO) processes, ensuring compliance with Japanese statutory requirements while supporting ERP system enhancements and business process improvements.

· Collaborate with global and regional teams to ensure seamless ERP system integration for financial reporting.

· Local Tax Compliance:

· Ensure compliance with Japanese tax laws, including Consumption Tax (JCT), Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, and social insurance regulations.

· Implement and maintain tax codes, tax reporting, and automated tax processes within ERP systems.

· Support the preparation and submission of statutory tax filings and financial statements in accordance with Japan-specific standards.

· Monthly Invoice Processing:

· Oversee monthly invoicing processes, customer billing cycles, and vendor payments while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

· Optimize invoicing workflows and implement automation solutions to reduce errors and processing time.

· Ensure compliance with Japan-specific e-invoicing rules and documentation standards.

· Stakeholder Collaboration:

· Work closely with finance, tax, procurement, and IT teams to align ERP functionalities with business needs.

· Act as the primary point of contact for all APAC FICO-related issues and enhancements.

· Serve as the in-house expert for commercial-related system design, configuration and business processes as they pertain to S/4HANA Controlling modules.

· Analyze, maintain, design, build, test and deploy functional solutions in the SAP FICO area, including other system integrations as necessary.

· Proactively engage the business stakeholders through discussions to define clear business requirements and align on the strategic direction and prioritization of various initiatives.

· Lead and manage small to mid-sized projects and enhancements and ensure their timely and successful completion.

· Translate business requirements into system configuration in the FI and CO modules.

· Collaborate with functional and technical SAP teams and Business Process owners for cross-functional initiatives.

· Participate and actively contribute to all ongoing initiatives including ticket and issue resolution, enhancements (WRICEF) and project-related activities.

· Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures and other documentation, including functional and technical specifications, job aids, test scripts and other manuals as needed.

· Adhere to all LivaNova’s policies and procedures around change management, information security, business process and configuration controls and emergency access management.

· Play a central role in ensuring SOX compliance, including identifying system and business process improvements.

· Serve as a mentor to junior members in the team and Interns; help with onboarding, demand management, prioritization, task assignments and resource allocation of both internal and external resources.

Skills and Experience:

- A proven track record (15+ years) in designing, building and executing SAP FICO configuration and their cross functional integration (to SD, MM, PP, PM, QM)

- Multiple full life-cycle implementation experience as a FICO architect

- A good understanding of the commercial processes and their impact on Finance

- A general understanding of financial processes including period-end close activities

- Expertise in Japanese tax regulations (e.g., JCT, Corporate Tax) and statutory reporting requirements.

- Strong knowledge of monthly invoicing processes, including Japan-specific standards.

- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and Japanese preferred.

- Experience in global or multi-national environments with cross-functional project management.

- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimum supervision

- Strong analytical thinker, self-motivated and results-oriented team player capable of producing timely, high-quality deliverables

- A proactive professional with good presentation/communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

- The location of the job position should be local to Japan and Remote. Onsite is required on a need basis.

Education:

Minimum Educational Qualification:

o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related discipline.

Desired Educational Qualification:

o Master’s in Business or Management Information Systems or a related field

o A practical background in Finance and Accounting

o SAP FICO (S/4HANA) certification is a plus

Travel Requirements:

No ongoing travel expectations, but occasional travel to project sites may be needed.

Physical Requirements:

None, since this is a desk job that requires work on a computer in an office.
