ispace Technologies, US. is a looking for a highly motivated and talented Environmental Test Engineer to join the Assembly , Integration and Test Team .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, train and oversee reliability test strategies for product and the subcomponents of the product to maximize space life and eliminate early life failures.
- Design and execute novel environmental, mechanical and electrical tests tailored to the product and its functions.
- Work collaboratively with hardware, software and network engineering teams to maximize reliability across all disciplines.
- Define the ongoing reliability of testing strategies to monitor the manufacturing process health and screen for long term reliability defects caused by process and component variability.
- Leverage knowledge to improve testing proficiency and efficiency to achieve positive ispace goals and objectives.
- Ensure Test Resources are readily available, serviceable and track any calibration needs
- Identify improvement opportunities and execute initiatives to maintain safe operations, ensure product quality, reduce lead time/labor hours, etc. through environmental test.
- Troubleshoot and identify root-cause for test anomalies and track implementation of corrective actions
- Assist and mentor junior engineers as appropriate.
- Collaborate in team meetings and activities.
- Oversee and manage the ispace-US Environmental Test Lab, including tests conducted within and general maintenance of test equipment.
- Work with teammates to write environmental test and validation plans for ispace developed hardware.
- Execute sine vibration, random vibration, shock, and thermal cycling tests.

Basic Qualifications

- Prior experience using VibrationVIEW software
- Prior experience with LabVIEW programming
- Previous experience operating thermal vacuum chambers
- Strong customer management/service experience
- Experience testing spaceflight avionics hardware
- Experience testing spaceflight propulsion hardware
- AS9100 industry with SPACE experience is a plus.
- Experience with NPI (New Product Introductions) and in transitioning products from the R&D phase into high volume manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as c++ or Python.
- Experience working for Aerospace/Space Prime or sub-contractor strongly preferred
- Experience in startup environment a plus

- Schedule may vary depending on program development needs; flexibility required
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary based upon experience $90,000-110,000 . The salary posted is a targeted range for budget of position. Base compensation can be negotiated and will be commensurate with experience, skills, education, and training.

What We Do
ispace is a lunar exploration company with a vision to extend human presence to outer space. The company is developing lunar landers and rovers to deliver customer payloads to the Moon and explore the lunar surface. In doing so, we aim to be a vehicle for companies on Earth to access new business opportunities on the Moon and ultimately incorporate the Moon into Earth’s economic and living sphere. The company is currently planning to its first mission to the Moon as early as Q4 2022.
