Position Purpose:
To plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operations of the Environmental Services (EVS) Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations. The Environmental Services Manager is responsible for maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff by supervising housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance services, and ensuring proper upkeep of equipment, supplies, and the physical grounds.
What you will do:
- Lead the Environmental Services Department, implementing programs, procedures, and policies to support clean, safe, and efficient operations.
- Supervise daily housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance activities.
- Oversee preventative maintenance programs and coordinate repairs, renovations, and third-party contractor services.
- Develop department schedules and staff assignments, ensuring adequate coverage and workflow.
- Mentor, coach, and evaluate department staff performance, fostering teamwork and excellence.
- Maintain budget compliance, manage supply inventory, and prepare expenditure reports.
- Participate in safety, infection control, and quality improvement committees.
- Support the community during emergency situations and participate in on-call rotation.
- Ensure compliance with hazardous material regulations, building codes, and safety protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or associate degree preferred.
- 3-4 years of related experience in facility/maintenance management; large property maintenance preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic knowledge of email/calendar systems.
- Physical ability to lift and move at least 25 pounds; capable of performing various physical tasks.
