Job Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY
The Validation Technician is responsible to perform technical assignments and tasks in support of engineering design, build and test activities.
JOB FUNCTIONS (ESSENTIAL)

  • Lead design, fabrication and build of test set-ups and test equipment used by design and test engineering groups.
  • Support in building, modifying, and verifying of engineering prototype samples,
  • Support Ed, DV, PV testing by conducting tests and documenting results as needed.
  • Provide support in troubleshooting of warranty returns as needed.
  • Manage equipment and prototype component inventory in the validation lab.
  • Manage equipment calibration and repair by outside vendors.
  • Perform detailed work assignments provided by the mentor or team member, by applying established and well-defined engineering techniques.
  • Produces technical documentation.
  • Generates concepts for improved product testing and processes.
  • Work assignments primarily involve entry level or intermediate work.
  • Develops and applies knowledge of problem solving and risk management.
  • Supports innovative ideas in field of knowledge collaboratively.
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
  • Complies with the requirements of Quality Operating System (QOS).


JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience

  • Associates Degree or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Automotive Product Validation
  • Developed professional and technical expertise.


Technical Knowledge

  • Skills and knowledge gained through experience and exposure to product development and product testing techniques, practices, and principles.
  • Understanding and application of fundamental product engineering and product testing principles and structured problem solving (8D) methods.
  • Ability to resolve routine issues and problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute tasks with moderate direction.
  • Familiarity with standard test equipment (thermal chambers, vibration tables).
  • Troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Working knowledge of common laboratory equipment. (DMM, Oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc)
  • Knowledge of testing techniques, schematics, and soldering equipment
  • Knowledge in structured problem-solving techniques (8D).
  • Thermotron Chamber controller knowledge a plus


Computer Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office package (Excel/PowerPoint/OneNote/Word)


Personal Attributes

  • Able to demonstrate self-motivation, tenacity, and determination (these skills are useful in this position)
  • Able to work independently with supervision.
  • Able to travel (domestic may be needed)


  • Comprehensive knowledge of English (verbal and written)
  • For positions located in non-English speaking locations, knowledge of the local working language is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge (verbal &written) of local language required.
