About the Role

Can you take the lead on application architecture change and migration to the Cloud?

Do you have a view on how to maintain conceptual integrity of product design as it rapidly evolves? 

Can you advise on the delivery of robust legacy system interfaces needed by Agile development teams? 

We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Architect with deep expertise in modernising legacy applications and migrating them to leading cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will guide our customers through the complexities of application modernisation, helping them transform their existing on-premises systems into scalable, cloud-native solutions that leverage the power of the cloud for performance, flexibility and innovation.

Key Responsibilities: 

Cloud Strategy & Roadmap Development:

• Collaborate with customers to assess their current technology landscape and define and deliver cloud modernisation strategies
• Develop and present cloud adoption roadmaps tailored to each client’s business goals and technical needs
• Align cloud strategies with broader enterprise architecture objectives, ensuring seamless integration into the customer's overall IT strategy

Legacy Application Assessment:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of legacy applications and identify modernisation opportunities
• Lead architecture reviews and technical assessments of existing systems, providing insights into scalability, performance, and modernisation potential
• Advise on the refactoring, re-hosting, re-platforming, and retirement of legacy application

Cloud Architecture Design & Implementation:

• Design and implement modern, cloud-native architectures on AWS, GCP, and Azure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency
• Ensure cloud architecture solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned with industry best practices and customer needs
• Lead technical teams in the deployment of cloud migration solutions and ensure smooth execution of cloud adoption plans 

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership:

• Work closely with C-level executives, IT leadership, and technical teams to communicate the value of cloud migration and modernisation efforts
• Provide thought leadership in cloud computing, application modernisation, and digital transformation initiatives
• Mentor and guide customers’ internal teams on best practices in cloud and legacy system modernisation

Cloud Services Integration:

• Recommend and integrate various cloud services (e.g., AI/ML, IoT, big data, analytics) to enhance the capabilities of modernised applications
• Ensure seamless integration of applications with cloud platforms, third-party services, and hybrid cloud environments

Cost Management and Optimisation:

• Implement cloud cost management strategies to ensure customers realise maximum value from their cloud investments
• Optimise cloud spend by recommending appropriate cloud services, scaling, and resource management strategies

About You

Experience:

• Extensive experience in enterprise architecture, cloud solutions, and legacy system modernisation
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure, with a proven track record of migrating and modernising legacy applications across these platforms
• Deep knowledge of cloud architecture patterns, multi-cloud strategies, and hybrid cloud deployments

Technical Expertise:

• Expertise in legacy system modernisation approaches such as refactoring, containerisation, microservices, and serverless architectures
• In-depth knowledge of cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Strong understanding of security best practices for cloud environments and experience in implementing governance and compliance standards

Certifications (Preferred):

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional)
• Google Professional Cloud Architect
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a consultative approach to addressing client needs
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaborative efforts across business and IT divisions
