About the Position

We are seeking an engineer to join our expanding team that specializes in the administration and management of third-party enterprise applications. This role sits at the intersection of operations, systems administration, and engineering, requiring someone who can effectively bridge the gap between off-the-shelf solutions and our firm’s specific needs through customization, integration, and automation.

The ideal candidate has experience in object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, Javascript, Apex, Groovy) and a strong knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python. You should be comfortable working with the command line and familiar with version control systems. More importantly, you should have a mindset for problem-solving and an ability to understand how enterprise software solutions fit into the broader IT ecosystem.

In this role, you will be responsible for configuring and customizing third-party software solutions, writing integration scripts, creating automation workflows, managing software deployments, and troubleshooting issues across the application stack. You will collaborate closely with both technical and business teams to ensure that our enterprise applications align with organizational needs while maintaining system stability and performance. This position provides an opportunity to work with modern enterprise technologies and to develop expertise in systems integration and implementation.

About You

  • Have 3-5 years of experience in administering enterprise-wide, third-party applications (e.g., Salesforce, Jira, Tableau)
  • Experienced with an object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, Apex, Groovy)
  • Have strong knowledge of scripting languages; a preference for scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python is a plus
  • Familiar with a relational database querying language (e.g., SOQL, SQL)
  • Experienced with source code management/version control
  • Able to transform business requirements into effective solutions and workflows using various methods, including technical skills and UX design
  • Experienced with administering one or more of the following: Jira Datacenter, Jira Cloud, Confluence, Salesforce, and Tableau; familiarity with other similar products is a plus
  • Have strong experience with RESTful APIs and building custom integrations between systems
  • Experienced with implementing and managing cloud-based applications using SSO solutions
  • Comfortable managing sensitive data in a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Have excellent people skills; communicate clearly with colleagues and external partners
  • Self-starter with an eye for continuous improvement; able to meet problems with innovative solutions
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Fluency in English required

What We Do

Jane Street works differently. As a liquidity provider and market maker, we trade on more than 200 trading venues across 45 countries and help form the backbone of global markets. Our approach is rooted in technology and rigorous quantitative analysis, but our success is driven by our people.

Our bright, beautiful offices in the heart of New York, London, Hong Kong, and Amsterdam are open and buzzing with conversation. We come from many backgrounds and encourage travel between offices to share perspectives. Some of our best ideas come from bumping into a visiting colleague at the office coffee bar.

Markets move fast. Staying competitive as we’ve grown has required constant invention—of new trading strategies, technology, and processes. We’ve found this is easier when you hire humble, kind people. They tend to help each other, and prioritize teamwork over titles.

We invest heavily in teaching and training. There’s a library and a classroom in every office, because deepening your understanding of something is considered real work. Guest lectures, classes, and conferences round out the intellectual exchanges that happen every day.

People grow into long careers at Jane Street because there are always new and interesting problems to solve, systems to build, and theories to test. More than twenty years after our founding, it still feels like we’re just getting started.
