Job Responsibilities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the KPC Health, Safety, Environmental and Security policies & procedures and demonstrate a personal commitment to Koppers’ Zero Harm/Zero Waste program
- Ensure that all Koppers & KPC procedures and policies are followed
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Koppers’ Zero Harm/Zero Waste program
- Develop the capability of team members and other employees by providing coaching and mentoring. Identify development opportunities and initiate continuous improvement plans to improve the capability of individuals
- Plan and execute strategies to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
- Develop relationships with outside contractors and build successful teams.
- Provide support to the Maintenance Department by setting specifications on equipment.
- Identify and improve process changes for productivity, quality, safety and environmental stewardship by identifying and prioritizing needs and defining goals
- Provide engineering technical support to internal and external customers
- Supervise the work of multiple teams.
- Monitor, review and enhance controllable parameters on an ongoing basis to achieve optimum equipment performance
- Introduction of technologies, equipment, processes and procedures to improve the efficiencies of the plant
- Provide technical advice to maintenance teams and ensure proper operation and care of equipment and maintain and analyze equipment data and history records to help predict maintenance needs
- Propose and manage capital, operational and project expenditure budgets
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited College or University; Advanced degree preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in a chemical, oil/gas, energy, or related plant environment; 10 years preferred
- Strong Project Management and Supervision skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Engineering and Asset Management technical knowledge
- Experience in the application of engineering methods and principles in the industrial chemical processing/manufacturing field
- High level of technology-based reporting capabilities
- Knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards and practices
- Strong communication skills, along with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
- Financial skills and working knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Familiarity with ASME code and API tank specifications preferred
- Excellent planning, organizing and analytical skills
- Project management training preferred
