Engineering Manager

The Opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated Engineering Manager to join our expanding Tech & Product Hub in Madrid. As part of a strategic investment in our technology, we are building new teams of talented engineers to enhance our platform and create innovative e-commerce products that will shape the future of online shopping.

In this role, you will provide hands-on technical leadership, offering day-to-day mentorship, coaching, and guidance to .NET engineers. You will be instrumental in encouraging a culture of excellence, driving best practices, and enabling teams to build scalable, high-performance solutions using innovative technologies.

Responsibilities

• Work with and provide day to day leadership and support to an engineering team responsible for developing/delivering key features within its domain.
• Work with engineering and product leaders to drive close collaboration within the global teams.
• Drive execution to ensure that projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
• Collaborate across functions to support planning and road-map prioritization.
• Anticipate technical challenges and define strategy through long-term planning.
• Continuously strive to introduce improvements and innovations to the team.

Requirements

• Proven experience in leading and running technical teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
• Experience building and maintaining 24x7 production-critical systems.
• Deep technical knowledge with a history of solving complex problems. Adept at identifying and solving security, scaling, resilience, and consistency challenges.
• Experience in e-commerce is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of development stack advantages: C#, WebApi, .NET Core, Kafka, Kubernetes, Microservices, Cosmos DB, Azure.
• Experience in Domain Driven Design, software design patterns and modern SDLC methodology, such as CI/CD, testing and release approaches.
• Proficient in Test Driven Development working within an Agile SCRUM team. We use the agile methodology combined with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
• Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, and passion for tackling tough problems.
• Outstanding communication skills required – primarily the ability to communicate ideas.
