Why This role
As a Senior Engineering Manager at Stellic, you'll have the opportunity to lead multiple squads and workstreams, each consisting of talented engineers and tech leads, to build innovative solutions that empower students and higher education institutions worldwide. You’ll thrive in an environment that values collaboration, cross-cultural teamwork, and impactful engineering.
What you'll do:
- Manage 2–3 engineering squads of 3-7 engineers each distributed between HQ (San Mateo, CA) and our hub in Pakistan.
- Build a culture of high performance, collaboration, and ownership across distributed teams.
- Guide and mentor tech leads and engineers, fostering career growth and development.
- Drive squad delivery at high velocity with uncompromising quality.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders in Product and Design to define roadmaps and prioritize initiatives.
- Make strategic technical decisions to scale systems and improve performance.
- Ensure seamless execution in the face of challenges unique to distributed teams, including time zones and communication.
What you'll need:
- At least 5 years in a software engineering management role.
- Proven experience managing globally distributed engineering teams.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to facilitate communication and collaboration across diverse cultural and geographic backgrounds.
- Deep understanding of technical architecture and system design.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic trade-offs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Compensation: $220,000 - $260,000 base salary, plus equity
Work location: Candidates must be willing to work in-office in the Bay Area 3 days per week as part of our hybrid work culture.
