We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead plant process engineering and equipment management at our Ohio production facilities. This is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by driving improvements in process efficiency, automation, and equipment management.

Position Summary:
As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of process engineering, equipment management, and automation for our Ohio production facilities. You will manage a team of Process Engineers, Process Technicians, and Controls Specialists, ensuring optimal equipment performance, plant efficiency, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and schedule activities for Process Engineers, Process Technicians, and Controls Specialists.
  • Maintain equipment specifications, programs, and all plant engineering documentation.
  • Support procurement of equipment and identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives such as VA/VE and freight reduction.
  • Manage plant automation, poke yokes, and support APQP processes.
  • Conduct time studies to improve labor efficiency, reduce scrap, rework, and overtime.
  • Lead root cause analysis to resolve product quality and scrap issues.
  • Revisit PFMEA to address risks and ensure compliance on a quarterly basis.
  • Support the Engineering Change Process, including modifications to production tooling, fixtures, and operational standards.
  • Lead the Plant Launch Readiness Process for new business awards and ensure smooth program transitions.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives and implement cost-effective automation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Advanced Engineering Department on tooling and capital equipment acquisition.
  • Install safety guards, poke yokes, and mistake-proofing mechanisms in processes before production launch.
  • Assist in cell layout and design, providing subject matter expertise to other HFI production facilities.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a high-paced automotive engineering environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering manufacturing, hydraulics, PLC programming, and equipment maintenance/automation (preferably in the automotive industry).
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to process and equipment challenges.
  • Core Tool knowledge and expertise: APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA, SPC.
