We're looking for an Engineering Manager to join Snap’s Viewer Consumption Experience Team!

Our team works on growing and contributing to Content products which drives key engagement on Snapchat. We are tackling challenging problems like unifying the playback viewer experience across multiple content products. On this team, you'll be part of building exciting features that will continue the growth, improvement, and viewer experience on Spotlight - our short-form video platform

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with product, design, data science partners and other cross-functional teams on delivering viewer experience product roadmap.

  • Continue improving the content viewer experience by shipping business impactful features / improvements.

  • Drive content viewership growth, one of the top company goals by building large scale intelligent systems. Content drives 90%+ of Snap revenue through ads. 

  • Build new and enhance existing growth levers including personalized content notifications, leveraging friends graph for content redistribution, new entry points, content search experience. 

  • Lead a team of 8+ engineers with iOS, Android, backend expertise building end-to-end product engineering for the Content viewer experience consumption.

  • Balance near, medium and long-term objectives to achieve business goals today while laying the foundations for extensibility and scale tomorrow.

  • Iterate quickly without compromising quality and raise the bar on operational excellence.

  • Create growth opportunities, give regular feedback, promote talent, manage performance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong computer science fundamentals.

  • Expertise in modern programming languages such as : Objective C/Swift or Java/Kotline or Go language.

  • Strong product sense.

  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience

  • 12+ years of experience working in software engineering.

  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing teams of high performing mobile software engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments.

  • Experience making critical decisions for complex technical issues in real-time, considering timelines and urgency.

  • Experience working with a diverse group of engineers.

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $222,000-$333,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $211,000-$316,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $189,000-$283,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
