Reporting to the Director of Detection and Response (DART), you will help plan, build, and scale Roblox’s Security Operations Center (SOC) program to protect our complex, growing environment. As Engineering Manager of Security Operations, you'll collaborate with internal teams to design, deliver, and manage detection and response capabilities through security orchestration and analysis. You will architect a resilient security program, grow the team capabilities, automate, and proactively prepare for incidents.
You will:
- Own the planning, development, and scaling of the SOC program to ensure effective threat detection, incident response, and mitigation!
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to design and implement security detection and response strategies.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of security runbooks, playbooks, automations, and workflows to streamline detection response.
- Develop a "follow-the-sun" support model to ensure coverage, round-the-clock threat monitoring and incident response.
- Foster a high-performing and inclusive team environment, ensuring continuous skill development and adherence to best practices in cybersecurity.
You have:
- 6+ years of experience in the Information Security domain.
- 4+ years of experience in people management.
- Proven expertise in building and managing 24/7 SOC operations programs
- Demonstrable experience in leading team-level objectives from inception through implementation.
- Proficiency in collaborating with teams from various functions to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Solid understanding of security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and security orchestration platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience
You are:
- An experienced Security Leader: You have experience building and leading security operations teams as well as identifying, triaging, and helping contain security incidents. You are meticulous in ensuring that all I’s are dotted and t’s are crossed.
- Experienced in reverse engineering: Be it malware, network, etc. You have experience taking things apart to understand them better!
- You think in bets: Product and enterprise security are not perfect, but you know where to look and how to pull in the right information to understand what is happening in the environment.
- Knowledgeable: You understand many domains of security and have knowledge to connect business challenges to security solutions. In past roles, you have worked as an administrator, developer, on the blue team, or on the red team.
- Creative: When presented with a challenge, you look for creative ways to solve hard problems fast.
- Team-oriented: You drive forward along with your team to accomplish the objectives and deliver the promise.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

$283,780—$331,640 USD
Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
