Role Mission: You will be responsible for leading and developing a team of engineers, directing, coordinating, and exercising authority for planning, organization, testing, leadership, and completion of engineering projects. You will drive the development of engineering capabilities and establish effective processes to maximize productivity and quality. You will oversee all aspects of the LeagueApps platform related to scheduling, including management, publishing, staff/location availability, attendance, and import/export functionality.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineering leadership, and other stakeholders to translate team projects into actionable requirements.
  • Ensure the team delivers technical projects on time and with high quality.
  • Own all aspects of the software development lifecycle for your area, including design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, alerting, and on-call support.
  • Lead and coordinate large, technical projects, providing direction and guidance to your team.
  • Partner with recruiting to source and interview candidates for approved open roles.
  • Monitor team members’ performance and support their professional growth and development.

Who You Are:

  • Motivated by the impact your work has on the lives of children participating in youth sports through our partners’ use of our software.
  • A hands-on leader, comfortable managing a team while contributing directly when needed.
  • Experience working with distributed systems and microservice architectures
  • Experienced working across the full tech stack, including new technologies (React, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, GoLang, Kotlin, Postgres) and legacy systems (Java, JSPs, Struts 2, Spring MVC, Hibernate, MySQL) hosted in GCP.
  • Passionate about building exceptional software and leading high-performing teams.
  • A seasoned software developer with 10+ years of experience, ideally building large-scale systems.
  • Experienced leader with 7+ years of management experience and 3+ years of Agile practices.
  • Positive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong ability to collaborate in a fully remote, highly interactive environment.
  • Smart, humble, and enthusiastic about both learning and teaching.
  • Skilled at building relationships and driving collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • An analytics-driven problem solver familiar with delivering quality software at scale.

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Compensation: $147,765 - $221,647

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes benefits, and other opportunities at LeagueApps. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal pay parity relative to other LeagueApps employees. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at LeagueApps to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
