We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and grow the hardware engineering team. This position requires a technical background and depth of leadership skills with a balance of People Leadership and Thought/Strategy Leadership. The incumbent generally reports to a Director of Engineering. This position will develop and execute strategy for Control Systems design, development, and research. She/he will provide direction, support, and guide design efforts for Controls Team. The team has approximately 25 members and includes a large spectrum of hardware functional expertise required for modern industrial control systems.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
•Provide develop and execute strategy for Industrial Control Systems design, development, and research •Provide direction, support, and guide design efforts for NPI Controls team •Develop member capabilities; aligning company strategy and member careers by: o Utilization the talent management system o Completing review process and salary planning o Developing, maintaining and executing of training matrix o Supporting staffing of the group to meet business demands and objectives•Develop and execute engineering best practices, processes, standards, and work instructions •Assign resources as required to product development teams •Support and drive new product development projects planning and execution •Drive robust design culture through continuous systemic improvement initiatives •Support root cause determination and/or corrective action for quality, field, or manufacturing issues •Develop budget to support annual planning activities and manage approved budget within constraintsWHAT WILL YOU NEED: •Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from Technical University•Excellent people, time management, and strong leadership skills •7+ years of engineering experience in electronic design development •Previous team management / leadership experience•Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate individuals to perform beyond their comfort zone •Expert knowledge of the electrical product life cycle•Highly refined communication and presentation skills•Excellent technical savvy and ability to reach consensus on technical direction •Good strategic thinking skills (specifically relating to the corporate strategic planning and execution) •Experience working with mid to large teams on development projects •Fluent English and Polish language skills, written and spoken
