Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of 6:9 backend engineers to build and maintain core services in our Payment Gateway that will heavily influence our platform future.

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and create professional development plans.

2. Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of the product roadmap.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize tasks.

3. Technical Guidance:

  • Provide technical direction, guidance and coaching for the engineering team.
  • Ensure best practices in coding, architecture, and security are upheld.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with product management & stockholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Facilitate clear communication between engineering teams and other departments.
  • Represent the engineering team in strategic planning and decision-making processes.

5. Quality Assurance and Performance Optimization:

  • Implement and maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Monitor and improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems and applications.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong proficiency in the Java ecosystem and associated frameworks is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms, GCP experience is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in fintech & online payment processes is highly preferred.
  • Ability to focus on adding value and make an impact to our customer.
  • Fluent English (C1+).
