Your role
We are thrilled to offer an exciting leadership opportunity as an Engineering Manager in our new technology office based in one of Turkey's foremost Technoparks, İTU ARI Teknokent, within İTU Ayazağa Campus. In this role, you will not only be responsible for building, growing, and managing our engineering teams in Turkey but also for representing our company within the tech ecosystem, a role of significant importance. You will collaborate with our Berlin-based teams and tech leadership and ensure broader strategic alignment and seamless coordination across regions.
You will
- One of the first managerial hires for the tech office, responsible for exploring and implementing innovative software design patterns to address complex challenges in FinTech.
- Oversee the FinTech engineering team in Istanbul, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality projects.
- Actively participate in recruiting and developing top engineering talent.
- Collaborate closely with the partner team in Berlin to ensure alignment of objectives, share progress updates, and work on global initiatives.
- Seek a versatile and motivated individual with a strong engineering background and demonstrated leadership skills.
- Balance both technical and managerial aspects of software engineering, demonstrating adaptability and comfort with ambiguity.
- Make informed decisions with limited information in a constantly changing environment.
- Passionate about technology, with the drive to lead and inspire a team.
- Excited about growing the company's presence in Türkiye.
What you bring
- 8+ years of deeply technical engineering experience, with 3+ years in a leadership/managerial role
- Experience with large-scale architectural patterns, event-driven microservices, well-designed APIs, and efficient algorithms
- Strong skills with some of the technologies we use: NodeJS, Javascript/Typescript, MongoDB, message queuing systems, Kubernetes/Docker, AWS/GCP
- Strong relationship builder, culture ambassador, and cross-team collaborator
