Join us, and be part of a team solving some of the most exciting challenges in the industry.

CoreWeave powers the creation and delivery of the intelligence that drives innovation.

About the role:

The Core Interfaces Team is at the forefront of innovation in bare metal assignment and scheduling for all CoreWeave products. This dynamic team ensures seamless management and fulfillment of all node requests, whether they originate from within Kubernetes clusters via node pools or as standalone bare metal servers. They handle a variety of node requests—including reserved, on-demand, and spot instances—ensuring optimal allocation to products and customers. Beyond scheduling and assignment, the team is spearheading the development of CoreWeave's bare metal server product offering and a Kubernetes autoscaler, driving the future of our infrastructure solutions.

We are seeking an engineering leader for the Core Interfaces team who can drive team process refinement and maturity to provide engineers a greater degree of certainty and focus. This individual will grow and guide a team of 10+ engineers in delivering key automations that enable our core products.  As the Manager of this team, you would have the opportunity to:

  • Manage day to day workloads, sprints, and roadmap planning.
  • Facilitate constructive communication across the team, between peer teams, and with dependency teams.
  • Provide coaching and counseling to team members through mentoring, 1:1s, and regular performance feedback.
  • Identify and minimize sources of friction that impede your team’s ability to be the best engineering team they can be.
  • Work with your team to develop and implement processes enabling a reliable, mature practice of platform delivery and development.
  • Coordinate with multiple teams to resolve dependencies and achieve project goals.
  • Manage up and sideways, clarify important vs urgent, and drive organizational improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Lead with empathy and help provide clear, actionable, and measurable career development goals for the team.

Wondering if you’re a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams – even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. Here are some qualities we’ve found compatible with our team. If a portion of this resonates with you, we’d love to talk.

  • You have six or more years of experience in a software or infrastructure engineering industry.
  • You have three or more years of experience as a technical leader or manager of a team.
  • You have current experience with Kubernetes and have developed operators for stateful services.
  • You have an understanding of gRPC, microservices, datastores, and cloud native design.
  • You believe in a bottoms-up style of leadership that focuses on enablement, communication, organization, and inspiration over task management.
  • You have experience in either delivering or consuming the domains of release engineering, test platforms, and/or observability.
  • You have some experience as an engineer with development responsibilities and can empathize with what the Core Interfaces customers might need to be successful.
