Engineering Manager - Backend (Hybrid - Seattle)

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our backend development team in achieving groundbreaking advancements in building comprehensive services and driving AI/ML initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement scalable solutions that enhance our product offerings.  You will play a crucial role in guiding a team of engineers, business partners, and ensuring the team delivers high-quality results towards our ambitious goals. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. 

• Oversee the design, deployment of comprehensive backend services and APIs, ensure these services effectively integrate with both front-end and back-end systems, delivering a seamless user experience. 

• Guide the end-to-end integration of advanced capabilities into our mobile apps, from initial concept through to deployment and optimization. 

• Monitor and improve team performance, providing guidance and support to team members. 

• Leverage your deep technical expertise in front-end and back-end technologies to drive high-quality service development and integration. 

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating relevant advancements into the team’s work. 

• Foster a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement, encouraging innovative solutions to complex technical challenges. 

• Lead efforts in troubleshooting and resolving issues to ensure the smooth operation of end-to-end services. 

• Contribute to technical architecture discussions and decisions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. 

Qualifications: 

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role within tech-focused environments. 

• Strong technical background with expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies. 

• Experience with AI and machine learning applications desired. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a passion for innovation and operational excellence. 

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams and business partners.
