REPORTS TO: Document Control Coordinator
SUPERVISES: None
AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as the resident technical expert for Document Control; responsible for overseeing the day-to-day work and the training of personnel. Additional responsibilities include:

Control and issue of all engineering documents including drawings/products, technical manuals and vendor drawings

Coordinates the issuing of Work Packages to Production/Operations

Tracking all issued documents through the approval process
-
Responsible for issuing, receiving and tracking drawings to Production, Client and Regulatory Body
-
Control and issue of all engineering change paper
-
Engineering Change Proposal (ECP), change paper and Internal Change management of liens and incorporation into the engineering products
-
Uploading and downloading documents to secure websites
-
Conferring with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents
-
Operation of reproduction and plotting equipment

May be required to expedite Vendor Furnished Information (VFI) from suppliers
-
Assists with maintaining internal schedule for Program CDRL deliverables and assists with tracking submittal of CDRLs to the Navy
-
Responsible for collecting CDRL inputs from various departments and assists in reviewing for correctness and adequacy prior to submitting to the Navy.

Receives and distributes Navy comments against Program CDRLs; assists in ensuring CDRL re-submittals are made in a timely manner.

Assists in preparing and maintaining status reports/metrics on Data Management/Document Control for the Program.

Interfaces with customers on related issues involving the preparation of contract deliverables for the Program.

Responsible for posting Program CDRLs to the Integrated Data Environment on time to meet contractual requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
-
Prefer Bachelor degree but AA degree acceptable if in related area.

Prefer four years’ experience in drawing and technical document control
-
Demonstrated experience in Data Management, Document Control and/or Configuration Management in a U.S. Navy shipbuilding environment
-
Excellent time management skills
-
Must be well organized
-
Excellent written, interpersonal and oral skills
-
Must be trust worthy and capable of dealing with ITAR related information
-
Ability to work under pressure and to a schedule
-
Ability to read drawings required
-
Experience training colleagues in the departmental processes and procedures is strongly desired for the DC III
-
Experience leading a team is preferred
LIAISES WITH:
-
Interface with Customers, company management, administration, technical, design and production trades as well as customer as related to Engineering Document Control related issues.

Work directly with Customers, Program Management, Contracts and Engineering disciplines in preparation of contract deliverables.

Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook

DWG Management System – retrieving reports

Integrated Date Environments experience similar to Share Point, Windchill, Alliance, Teamcenter and/or Virtual Office Enterprise (VOE) required

IFS knowledge/experience strongly preferred

Use of Product Workflow tools similar to Bizflow strongly preferred
DIRECTION EXERCISED: If desired by the Document Control Coordinator, the DC III may supervise Document Control employees while the Document Control Coordinator is not available
DISCRETION EXERCISED: May provide input to Document Control processes
LIAISES WITH: Engineering, Supply Chain, Production/Operations, Equipment
Suppliers, ILS and Support Contractors
