As Director of Platform Engineering, you will oversee deeply technical engineering teams, building the foundation on which Veo builds key products and services.

As the person responsible for building and scaling our development platform and infrastructure, you will play an important part in defining and delivering the overall strategy. Your contributions to establishing the product architecture will guide the product development teams as they enhance, streamline, and continually innovate within Veo's fundamental product pillars.

Your teams will build a platform as a product developers love, enable a world class capture and viewing experience and specialize in advanced computer vision algorithms and engineering deliverable in embedded and cloud computing environments.

You’ll play a vital part in our growth, ensuring developers have the right tools and a seamless experience utilizing appropriate technologies and techniques across the business.

What you will do:

• Shape Veo’s scalable and maintainable technology platform and infrastructure
• Obsess about the customer’s experience, both across the world and across your desk
• Optimize Veo’s software development lifecycle across engineering
• Hire top-notch engineers that have seen the best and worst of both theory and practice
• Motivate and coach teams to reach their full potential
• Propagate rapid, stable and sustainable engineering practices across all engineering teams
• Manage budgets for staff, infrastructure and tools across the group
• Facilitate delivery of critical topics like security, business continuity and on-call
• Spread a DevSecOps mindset from your actions and your teams’ products

What you could bring:

• Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure and architecture at scale
• Technical depth and experience in designing a modern platform
• Solid hands-on engineering background, both educationally and professionally
• Leadership experience as a director or higher
• Approachable growth mindset and personality, contributing to an innovative and inclusive positive team spirit
• Knows what good looks like when it comes to building and operating large-scale cloud platforms
• Real-world experience with video processing, computer vision, or machine learning inference at scale
• Comprehensive verbal and written English communication skills

What is expected:

• Month 1: Acquire a thorough familiarity with Veo's corporate operations, including the progression from development to launch processes, the configuration of systems, proprietary instruments, personnel competencies, and the array of hurdles in operational, infrastructural, and efficiency domains
• Month 3: Prioritized plan for shaping of teams and technical direction to improve software delivery that scales across engineering disciplines and media processing/delivery.
• Month 12: A maturing internal platform of tools and data, treated as a product, delivering core developer and business enhancing capabilities used throughout Veo services.

You’ll play a vital part in our success, helping ensure that our developers have the right tools and a seamless experience utilizing various technologies across the business.

As the person responsible for building and scaling our digital platform, you will work on the foundation of product architecture and lead the product development team in implementing, optimizing, and further experimenting with Veo's core product pillars. You will also play an active part in defining and delivering the overall strategy.
