Role Description

You will be joining the Cloud Compute engineering team as an Engineer in the Image-Factory team. This function is responsible for

• Creating Golden OS images using Packer and github actions.
• Terraform IaC templates, clone-able application repositories with CI/CD workflows required to setup an application using the GCP products & features.
• As an Engineer you will design, develop and maintain the VM images and container images.
• Collaboration with key stakeholders within cloud Infra Engineering teams and other Line Functions.

Your key responsibilities

• Have experience of Infrastructure automation development to enhance and manage our products in GCP.
• To work part of the Cloud Engineering team and be responsible for the build and support of cloud products.
• You will code but stay close to solution design too, iterate and collaborate with a global team of engineers from Source (legacy) and Target systems (Cloud).
• Be a part of a cross-functional, self-managed team in a multi-team scrum environment.
• Communicate regularly with technical, development and operational staff to maintain Platform integrity, capacity, and security.
• Proven work experience as a Infra application Developer. Detailed knowledge of application workflow and maintenance.
• Proactively identify opportunities for work optimization including opportunities for automation of work.
• Analyzing problems and architecting/ designing solutions to build new components and evolve existing components and functionality using Python

Your skills and experience

• Good Hands experience in programming language like Python, Java, Shell Scripting.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable Python code.
• Understanding of back-end design, including REST services, SQL data access.
• Writing optimized SQL queries for integration with other applications
• Good strong fundamental understanding of one public Cloud Platform GCP, AWS or Azure.
• Working experience of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Enterprise), Policy as Code (Sentinel).
• Knowledge of Atlassian's Confluence and JIRA products.
• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies 
• Experience with distributed version control tool (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket).
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. 
• Experience building custom images using Packers is a plus.
• GCP certification is a plus.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is a plus.
