Lumentum is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to join the Communication and Commercial Optical Products business unit.   In this role the candidate will be responsible for determining most effective ways to test advanced optical components through focus on new testing systems and processes using hardware, software, real time data acquisition, and programming knowledge. The candidate will interface with different groups within Lumentum, including product engineers, R&D engineers, equipment engineers, manufacturing process engineers, to maintain and improve legacy and new product introductions.  

The successful candidate should be self-motivated, a creative thinker, exhibit drive for success, be process and systems oriented, hands on, manage with clear and concise data, and work well within a cross function team.

In this role, the candidate will also:

  • Work closely with internal and offshore teams to develop and implement test processes and systems into existing production environment.
  • Design test process and create work instruction.
  • Improve yield, efficiency, and cycle time (HPU).
  • Drive automation and eliminate manual tasks.
  • Develop new and modify existing test hardware and software to meet product requirements.
  • Analyze, debug, and recommend corrective actions for test related issues on manufacturing floor.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in telecommunication, electrical engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years experience with Test Engineering in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge on circuit diagram and electronic component.
  • Knowledge on EDFA, WSS and ROADM
  • Experience on Measurement System Analysis (MSA), GR&R and Correlation.
  • Data analysis and report preparation skills.
  • Track record of delivering innovative solutions to challenging problems. VB and LabView programming, test automation, Minitab/JMP skills is a plus.
  • Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skill, leadership, and teamwork.
  • Willingness to work on a flexible schedule and occasional overseas travel.
  • Written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability for creative thinking.
