MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
- Leads the identification and recommendation of the purchase, modification and improvement of varied equipment
- Manages all aspects of large cross-functional project and is responsible for cost, schedule, performance and deliverables for the entire project.
- Defines the scope of the project and selects team members from within and outside of their discipline.
- Leads the completion of engineering & design work related to the installation and retrofit of varied, complex equipment.
- Ensures that advanced day-to-day equipment troubleshooting support is provided to Maintenance.
- Leads the development of standards, processes and procedures within the department.
- Provides coaching and mentoring to less experienced Engineers across disciplines.
- May provide day-to-day direction to Engineering staff.
- May specialize in one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
- Four-year college degree required.
- Five or more years of relevant experience required.
- Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
- Ability to perform independent work on larger assignments requiring experience and independent judgment and under supervision of higher-level engineer, supervisor, or manager.
- Design skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage subsets of projects.
- Ability to apply engineering discipline training in the design of equipment and fabrications.
- Ability to direct outside consultants, contractors, and material suppliers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
- Willing to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
