Practitioner in the methods, tools, and techniques of lean six sigma and continuous improvement. Will solve organizational process problems and addresses new opportunities by analyzing business requirements, documenting processes, highlighting issues, and recommending process solutions. The role involves acting as a primary driver for the improvements of business processes and requires the ability to lead and influence stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
The Enterprise Assurance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers critical assurance disciplines that protect and enable people, data and missions. We provide a comprehensive approach to managing risk across the enterprise for current and future information environments where the business and missions execute. We apply the use of innovative tools and robust processes to ensure mission and business success.
What You'll Do:

  • Develop detailed understanding of core business processes.
  • Utilize data-driven, fact-based analytics to formulate tactical, actionable solutions to business issues
  • Identifying and managing risks and opportunities.
  • Analyze, understand, and document current-state and/or similar business process models and business requirements to support design, optimization, and documentation (mapping) of processes.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma (LSS) techniques to identify waste in processes and demonstrate Return on Investment.
  • Facilitate one-on-one interviews and cross-team process workshops as part of process discovery, improvement, and change management.
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events or process improvements initiatives with cross-functional teams
  • Support the management and implementation of employee suggestions.
  • Communicate, inform, and educate effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • Identify, define, gather, and analyze process metrics to support findings and recommendations using a variety of data analytic methods and presentation formats.
  • Develop and track project cost and schedule, working to meet project milestones.
  • Assist in the evolution of the department's supporting infrastructure by evaluating alternative courses of action and recommending adjustments and improvements to methods and tools.
  • Mentor junior team members or new hires in Lean Six Sigma tools and continuous improvement practices.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.


On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
  • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
  • May access other facilities in various weather conditions.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Experience leading business process and/or technology projects demonstrating creative, out-of-box thinking.
  • Ability to extract, gather, connect, and assemble data from disparate data sources into a cohesive view using a variety of methods and tools (Excel/Minitab, Access, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Business Productivity (e.g., MS Word, Excel, etc.) and Business Modeling Tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio, etc.).
  • Experience in negotiation, collaboration, influencing and working in a matrixed environment.
  • Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills demonstrating a consistent attention to detail; solid organization and workflow skills.
  • Understanding of change management principles to support organizational process transitions.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with Agile project management methodologies.


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
