Job Description:

Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE), based in East Hartford Connecticut, is looking for a Data Science & Analytics expert to join our team at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru India.  This role will be responsible for the development, deployment, and support of game-changing repair/maintenance machine learning and statistical models that provide forecasting, prediction and prescriptive solutions that can be embedded into our software and workflows.  These solutions will enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art in gas turbine engine repairs and reduce the cost of maintaining our parts, components, and engines.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage ASE’s aftermarket data to provide insights and better decision making
  • Build PowerBI/Qlik dashboards
  • Work with experienced engineers to define, prototype, test, deploy and monitor machine learning and statistical models to provide predictions and forecasts
  • Understand, explain, and recommend appropriate Machine Learning/Data Analytics methods and software solutions
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (with 4+ year experience) or Advanced degree (with 2+ year experience) in Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Statistics
  • 2+ years of experience in SQL
  • 2+ years of experience building machine learning/statistical models

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aerospace domain.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience developing in Python
  • Experience developing PowerBI/Qlik dashboards
  • Experience with data & text mining
  • Strong learner who is comfortable learning new libraries and frameworks
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Good communication skills and working as a team player
  • Possesses excellent judgement and professional maturity
  • Provides creative solutions
