Job Description:

Microchip Technology Inc. is a leading provider of embedded control applications. Our product portfolio comprises general purpose and specialized 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers, 32-bit microprocessors, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) products, a broad spectrum of high-performance linear, mixed-signal, power management, thermal management, radio frequency (RF), timing, safety, security, wired connectivity and wireless connectivity devices, as well as serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM), Serial Flash memories, Parallel Flash memories, and serial Static Random Access Memory (SRAM). We also license Flash-IP solutions that are incorporated in a broad range of products.

Microchip Technology Inc. has a Software Engineer (DevOps) opening based in San Jose, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and supporting applications, tools, process for a robust software development environment and software testing regression framework and application.

Responsibilities:

The candidate needs to develop in-depth knowledge of the software build and release process, Jenkins CI/CD tool, and scripting proficiency using Python, JavaScript, bash shell scripting. The candidate will use JIRA, Bugzilla, ClearCase, Git, BitBucket, Bazel, MySQL, MongoDB on a daily basis.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• BS/MS in CS/CE with 0-3 years of experience related with software development, software DevOps, or software testing.
• Knowledge of automation and have worked on Linux/Windows platforms.
• 1-3 year experience of Python, or any other scripting language.
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline tools and methodology (Jenkins, JIRA, Git, BitBucket) is highly desirable.
• Experience on popular web framework is highly desirable. Experience on Angular or React framework (NodeJS, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, MongoDB, ElasticSearch) is a plus.
• Experience in DevOps experience and tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Docker, kubernetes, AWS services) is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communicational skills.
• Demonstrate high focus on work quality.

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in California, is $66,560 - $128,000.*
