Job Purpose:

Engineer, Cloud Operations & SRE is responsible for maintaining the reliability of infrastructure environments and ensure infrastructure services run smoothly without errors after deployment.

Implement automation tools and frameworks to handle failures, optimize the scalability, performance, and reliability of large-scale, on-prem and cloud-based applications.

Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure, and provisioning Azure PaaS services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support the application stack. This role plays a crucial part in IT/OT operations, enhancing the productivity and reliability of an Infrastructure and software solutions. Additionally, the Engineer, Cloud Operations & SRE will lead collaboration efforts with business units, suppliers and the Central Infrastructure team to troubleshoot any application or infrastructure services issues, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency within the on-prem and cloud environment.

This job is critical because it will help in building the strong SRE pipelines to avoid outages, avoiding human errors and in ensuring L1 and L2 tasks are automated using orchestration tools in on-prem and cloud infrastructure. This role will bridge the gap between development and operations teams, ensuring that pipelines are delivered quickly, reliably, and safely. The Engineer, Cloud Operations & SRE supports application teams by provisioning Azure PaaS services using IaC, which is essential for maintaining a robust application stack.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using Python, Ansible and Camunda

  • Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software delivery process.

  • Ensure pipelines are scalable, efficient, and secure to support continuous integration and delivery.

  • Strong experience in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles

  •  Proficiency in Python programming language

  •  Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Chef

  •  Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, or GCP

  •  Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD

  •  Strong knowledge of windows and Linux/Unix systems administration

  •  Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes

  •  Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

  • Automate the provisioning of infrastructure using tools like Camunda , Terraform, ARM templates, or Azure Resource Manager.

  • Provision and manage Azure PaaS services to support various application stacks, ensuring reliability and consistency.

Collaboration and Troubleshooting:

  • Lead efforts in collaborating with application owners and the Central Infrastructure team to troubleshoot and resolve application or infrastructure issues.

  • Efficient in network and firewall troubleshooting to ensure smooth operation of applications and services.

  • Provide support and guidance during incident resolution and post-mortem analysis.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and security of development and deployment processes.

  • Stay up to date with the latest DevOps and SRE practices and technologies

Time zone:

  • Work in the Europe time zone to align with team operations and collaboration needs.

Required Qualification & Skills:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a SRE and DevOps role, preferably within an On-Prem and  Cloud environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep expertise with Azure services and tools, including Azure DevOps, Azure CLI, ARM templates, and Azure Resource Manager.

  • Proficient in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, or similar tools.

  • Expertise in Bash, PowerShell scripting and automation using Python and Azure Python SDK.

  • Using Camunda for Orchestrating automated solutions within an AIOps for IT operations.

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Proficient in monitoring and logging tools, with a focus on application performance and reliability.

Nice to have:

  • Java, GCP knowledge, SSCM, end to end VM provisioning via self-service portal

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across various teams and departments.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

  • Leadership skills in driving collaborative troubleshooting efforts and process improvements.

Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert is highly desirable.

  • Other relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are a plus.
