The NASA IT portfolio within the Federal Civilian IT sector at Leidos currently has an opening for an Endpoint Systems Engineer.  This is primarily a telework position, but the ideal candidate will reside within reasonable commute distance from a NASA operating center and have flexibility to go on-site when needed for specific activities.  This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the NASA End-User Services and Technologies (NEST) mission.  In this mission, we serve as an agile, trusted partner to transform, integrate, simplify, modernize, and safeguard NASA IT systems and data.  And, above all else, continuously enhance the end-user experience.  

Primary Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of this role lie with the configuration, deployment and management of client computer operating systems and software.
•    Create, maintain, and deploy software packages for Windows client applications.
•    Develop scripts using Windows-supported languages (PowerShell, VBScript) to automate installation and configuration of Windows client applications.
•    Develop and execute test plans for Windows client applications.
•    Manage the software lifecycle of Windows client applications, ensuring that software supported by NEST is kept up-to-date and licenses provided by NEST are maintained.
•    Utilize client management tools such as Microsoft Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune, and HCL BigFix to deploy Windows client applications, report deployment status, and to report inventory of software installed on Windows clients.
•    Develop and deploy scripts, group policy objects, configuration profiles, and/or compliance baselines to apply software and operating system configurations.
•    Document software packaging processes, software package as-built details, and software package testing results.
•    Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during installation of client software.
•    Create and maintain knowledge articles for end users and support technicians.
•    Package and deploy operating system and software updates.
•    Troubleshoot and resolve issues that prevent clients from installing operating system and software updates.
•    Create and maintain operating system images, driver packages, and other assets required for Windows operating system deployment via Microsoft Configuration Manager and Microsoft Intune.
•    Develop and execute test plans for new endpoint hardware and operating system deployments
•    Monitor and maintain the Microsoft Configuration Manager hierarchy
•    Participate in project teams to implement new services and service enhancements on the NEST innovation roadmap.
•    Create knowledge articles to assist NEST technicians and end users in resolving common issues
•    Resolve incidents and fulfill requests in alignment with established program processes and in a timeframe that meets or exceeds SLA requirements for incident handling, request fulfillment and service availability (uptime).
•    Prepare process documentation and provide process training to NEST technicians and other relevant audiences.
•    Work with NEST vendors to resolve technical issues, monitor product roadmaps, and implement product changes.

Basic Qualifications:

•    Public Trust or other security clearance is required.
•    Bachelors degree or relevant experience 
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical subjects in an effective way to audiences with a differing levels technical expertise.
•    2+ years experiencing creating software packages and deploying software via Microsoft Configuration Manager.
•    2+ years experience building operating system images, driver packages, and task sequences for operating system deployment via Microsoft Configuration Manager.
•    Knowledge of scripting languages used for system automation, including PowerShell and VBScript
•    Knowledge of Simple Query Language (SQL) and Microsoft SQL Server
•    Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a telework environment while maintaining healthy communication with peers, leadership, customers, vendors and project stakeholders.
•    Reliable internet connection for telework
•    Suitable workspace that is conducive for focusing on complex work assignments and participating in online video meetings.
•    ITIL Foundation certification

Preferred Qualifications:

•    A current certification in a relevant field or technology.
•    Experience architecting, deployment and administering Microsoft Configuration Manager.
•    Experience administering Microsoft Intune in support of PC management.

Pay Range:Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
