Job Description

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE: The End User Compute Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation, management, and support of the organization's end-user computing environment. This role focuses on managing endpoints (laptops, desktops, mobile devices), improving user experience, implementing system enhancements, and providing technical support for end users. The End User Compute Engineer will play a vital role in designing, deploying, and maintaining efficient and secure endpoint solutions.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively participate in help desk activities, including answering phone queues, managing support tickets within the ticketing system, and assisting with escalated issues to ensure timely resolution and seamless end-user support.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-user devices, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Manage the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of end-user computing technologies such as Microsoft 365, Intune/Autopilot, and other related platforms.
  • Implement and maintain endpoint management solutions (e.g., Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Intune).
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, including patch management, software updates, and endpoint protection.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to roll out new technologies and improve existing workflows.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles.
  • Monitor endpoint performance, identify issues, and proactively resolve them to minimize downtime.
  • Plan and coordinate hardware and software lifecycle management, including procurement, upgrades, and retirement of end-user devices.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of automated processes to improve user provisioning and endpoint deployment.
  • Provide end-user training and onboarding for hardware and software tools.
  • Collaborate with vendors for support and troubleshooting on hardware, software, and licensing issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES / EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in end-user computing or related IT support roles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows environments, including endpoint management tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune, SCCM, or Autopilot).
  • Experience deploying and managing Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Experience with endpoint security tools (e.g., antivirus, encryption, and patch management).
  • Solid troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing and maintaining knowledge base documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, adapt, and operate autonomously in dynamic environments.

PREFERRED SKILLS / ABILITIES / EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools such as Intune.
  • Experience with asset management and software deployment tools such as Chocolatey
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices.
  • Experience working with IT ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Rezolve.AI.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS, BA) in Computer Science, similar field, or equivalent experience.
