As an Employee Relations Specialist you will be responsible to Managing employee relations cases and investigations and is expected to demonstrate a clear understanding of legal compliance, applicable workplace laws, regulations, and APMT/Maersk policies and procedures. Additional key components of this role include facilitating trainings on management and leadership topics, and coordination and oversight of staff engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure 100% compliance with the clauses of the current Collective Agreement.
- Responsible, together with the HRBP, for the negotiation process of the Collective Agreement.
- Supports in establishing a positive and engaging workplace culture by effectively facilitating and resolving employee relations matters.
- Make recommendations based on assessment of trend and root cause analysis.
- Uses metrics to highlight trends and develop strategies to foster positive employee relations.
- Leads and conducts investigations regarding potential misconduct and policy violations.
- Coordinate employee engagement champions to support the EE agenda within the different shifts.
- Identifies, analyses, and implements resolutions to complex and sensitive issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Mitigates risk by ensuring compliance with APM Terminals policies & local labour laws.
- Provide training on policies, procedures to ensure labour compliance.
- Provides day-to-day advice and counsel to managers on a wide range of employee relations issues including progressive counselling, performance management, company policies and procedures.
- Ensure all frontline managers are fully equipped to deliver the service required as leaders of people, follow up on the ones that lack the necessary skills granting them the support, recommend actions as needed.
Requirements:
- Requires a college degree in education in Psychology, Human Resources, business management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources, especially in Labor Relations with Unions and conflict management, working with leaders, among others.
- Management of technological tools, ATS, Office; knowledge of Workday is desirable.
- level of planning and organizational skills.
- Must be able to prepare presentations and dashboards with concise data Must be able to exercise discretion and good judgment, with an ability to understand the effect of decisions overall in the company.
- Must be able to influence other team members in a positive way and lead a department of individuals.
- Must be customer service oriented, sensitive to the needs of the departments and others.
- Advanced English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Availability to work in the city and the port of Quetzal.
