Job Summary
NATURE OF WORK:
· Responsible for providing, Electrical, Mechanical, hydraulics, HVAC, plant equipment and general maintenance assistance to Danisco USA Inc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure operation of plant and facility Electrical and instrumentation equipment by performing scheduled and unscheduled repairs, rebuilds, inspections, and routines. This includes providing proper record keeping, especially of all safety checks.
· Serve as a support person to other departments by trouble-shooting equipment failures in the electrical, instrumentation area in a timely manner for production operations.
· Support implementation and improve preventive and predictive maintenance to plant and facility equipment as needed for cost effective and efficient operations.
· Ensure Electrical inspections, repairs, and routines are completed as needed for cost effective and efficient operations.
· Ensure quality plant rounds, water readings, wastewater samples, boiler and refrigeration checks, and water treatment analysis are being performed as needed to insure efficient operations. Coordinate review of rounds procedures. Coordinate review of rounds information for trends and initiate any corrective actions accordingly.
· Ensure safe keeping of company equipment by acting responsibly and maintaining in good order company issued hand tools, and all other DUSK tools or supplies used during performance of duties.
· Update equipment history files as work is performed on equipment. Responsible for coordinating changes being made to equipment files for new/updated/removed equipment.
· The position requires complete familiarization of new maintenance software relative to generating, planning and closing work orders. A daily review of work order backlog shall be made to assist in making dynamic changes to the work in progress.
· Keep work area clean and provide assistance in cleaning entire shop area.
· Coordinate parts requirements with the Parts Inventory Coordinator as part of planning work to ensure parts are available when needed.
· Assign work to qualified Maintenance personnel based upon the skill requirements of the requested work and the skill capabilities of each Mechanic/Technician.
· Ensure that work schedules are realistic in terms of resource planning and time requirements through accurate estimating of resource requirements, skill requirements and time requirements of the work to be performed.
· This position requires a follow up after repair is completed by shift mechanics, to insure repair is completed satisfactory and in a timely manner, for production operation.
· Other functions as required (non-essential functions).
· RCRA Hazardous Waste Responsibilities – correct labeling of containers for hazardous waste generated by the Maintenance department at the 90-day hazardous waste storage area and updating the hazardous waste log. Assist in preparation of hazardous waste containers for shipment, including placing drugs/containers on pallets and loading pallets onto the appropriate truck.
· Ensure adherence to all management systems including, ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and Food Safety, with an understanding of Danisco's Quality and Environmental Policies and procedures. Responsible that these policies and procedures are implemented throughout the organization and all related activities under the position’s jurisdiction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Knowledge and previous experience with preventative and spare parts systems is needed.
· Use of PC, word processing and spreadsheet software
· Knowledge of mid range software system for maintenance
