Our Advanced Analytical and Data Sciences organization is growing to support the entire Lilly enterprise, from Discovery to Development to Manufacturing and Commercialization of our medicines. Through the Lilly Marketplace and the Analytics Workbench, the Enterprise Data Office provides a user experience to provide capabilities to store, catalog, find, and access Lilly data across the entire organization. These innovative solutions help advance our goal of data democratization at Lilly, unlocking our data for shared approved use. We connect data producers with data consumers and provide AWS backend analytic tools through Enterprise capabilities. In this role, you will help grow and enhance the capabilities we provide for through these applications focusing on a positive user experience leveraging new technologies to advance user output.
Role Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced AWS Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of hands-on experience in architecting, designing, and implementing AWS solutions. They should possess strong leadership skills and have a proven track record of leading teams of 5 or more members. As an AWS Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and deployment of cutting-edge AWS solutions that align with our business objectives. Additionally, experience with other cloud services like Azure, along with proficiency in Python programming language, implementing data engineering projects, and contributing to the development of data products, will be beneficial for this role.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team of AWS professionals, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable AWS architectures.

Architect, design, and implement AWS solutions using best practices and industry standards.

Implement data engineering projects, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, and analysis, leveraging AWS services such as Glue, EMR, Athena, and Redshift.

Contribute to the development of data products, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and data visualization solutions, utilizing Python programming language.

Familiarity with other cloud services like Azure, and ability to leverage cross-cloud solutions where appropriate.

Perform cost analysis and optimization to ensure efficient utilization of AWS resources.

Establish and maintain governance, security, and compliance standards within AWS environments.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of AWS solutions.

Stay abreast of emerging AWS and other cloud technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on our business.
