We’re looking for a sharp, strategic editor to lead our GTM thought leadership content. In this role, you’ll craft creative essays that challenge conventional thinking in operations, marketing, sales, and customer success. Your writing will position Clay as a go-to source for novel GTM insights and be shared among GTM executives. 

What you’ll do

  • Interview GTM leaders – Speak with executives to uncover unique insights and perspectives. Distill their raw thoughts into clear, engaging content while managing follow-ups with busy leaders and respecting their time.

  • Write engaging, differentiated GTM essays – Use these interviews to create strategic and tactical essays that stand out in the GTM content ecosystem. Deep expertise in Clay isn’t required, but familiarity with the GTM landscape is essential. Expect to produce around three high-quality essays per week.

  • Manage freelance writers – Scale content production by working with freelance writers, ensuring their work meets quality and consistency standards while staying on schedule. You will hire and retain our existing talent pool of freelance writers.

  • Collaborate with GTM newsletters – Work directly with high-profile GTM newsletters, whether partnering with their editors or the newsletter owners themselves. Ensure that content published on partner newsletters aligns with their unique voice, tone, and audience expectations.

  • Support additional content needs – While thought leadership essays will be your primary focus, you may also contribute to Clay’s newsletter, case studies, or other written content.

  • A fresh perspective. You aren’t regurgitating other GTM writing. You find a unique way to position your writing that stands out amongst the noise.
