Position Title: Deputy Team Leader-II (Hydromechanical Expert)- National Expert
Key Qualifications/ requirements:
He/she should have at least 15 years of experience in broad range of hydromechanical, hoisting arrangement, control system, automation, SCADA, repair and rehabilitation of existing gates, quality assurance, operation and maintenance of spillway gates, under sluice, automation etc. as well as other project activities not mentioned in the scope of DTL-1. He/she should have experience in leading and coordinating the hydro-mechanical component in such rehabilitation projects. He/she should have a good academic background with Degree in Mechanical Engineering and preferably a master’s degree in any specialised branch of Mechanical Engineering relevant to this project activities etc. He/she should have the working experience of design, detailed engineering, quality assurance and workshop inspections, preparation of technical specifications and bill of quantities etc. for a minimum of 5 similar works of dam projects.
Job Descriptions:
- Serve as the Overall Nodal Expert for all technical matters related to DRIP activities, particularly in hydro-mechanical rehabilitation.
- Oversee rehabilitation of spill gates, under sluice gates, hoisting and gear systems, automation, SCADA, Surveillance, and Control Systems.
- Ensure timely compliance and expedition of all procurement, technical, and critical matters at CPMU for review, appraisal, and transmittal.
- Monitor internal work progress, timelines, and delivery mechanisms on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to achieve all agreed deliverables.
- Report all technical matters to the Team Leader (TL), CPMU in-charge, DRIP Director, and concerned units for appropriate action.
- Initiate and coordinate project meetings, ensuring the finalization and transmittal of Minutes of Meetings (MoM) within three days.
- Identify bottlenecks in project implementation and recommend corrective actions to achieve project objectives.
- Finalize presentations in consultation with TL, Project Director, and other team members for key meetings.
- Coordinate and ensure the finalization of all important technical milestones within assigned timelines.
- Act as the Nodal Officer in the absence of the Team Leader, handling all official matters and reporting directly to the Project Director, DRIP.
- Ensure the preparation and execution of monthly action plans, guidelines, manuals, and other key technical documents.
- Ensure continuity of project activities by identifying a substitute nodal expert during team members' leave and notifying the appropriate replacements.
- Coordinate with the TL and Consultant HQ team for the timely mobilization of expert profiles and ensure replacements meet the required qualifications.
- Address and resolve project issues with the Consultant’s official representative at HQ or CPMU HQ.
- Monitor, guide, and ensure that all technical decisions align with professional standards and project objectives in the best interest of CWC and DRIP.
- Engage in regular discussions with the TL and Project Director to review achieved milestones and progress towards deliverables.
- Undertake any other task necessary to meet Project Objectives as directed by the Project Director, DRIP, CWC.
