Responsibilities & Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in a team environment on a range of projects, including storm water master drainage studies, storm water management, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, final drainage analysis and design, flood studies, bridge hydraulics, & Low-Impact Development planning and design.
- Develop technical writing proficiency by preparing hydrologic studies, drainage reports, drainage plans and specifications, FEMA Letters of Map Revision, and other various design documents.
- Ability to demonstrate known hydrologic and hydraulic software and learn new software to become a well-rounded engineer.
- Assist in developing detailed exhibits for projects and pursuits
- Show a desire to learn the basics of project management, beginning with an understanding of project scopes, schedules and budgets.
- Participate in industry conferences and conventions to develop peer and client networks; join young professional associations.
- Work closely and collaborate with other industry leading young professionals, jurisdictions, agencies, and contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field
- Two or more years of relevant engineering design experience
- Engineering in Training (EIT) Engineering Certification
- Experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, Microstation, Civil3D, StormCAD, ArcGIS, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and other related hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design software.
