The Domestic Tax Manager is a key member of the tax team responsible for supporting and managing the domestic reporting and compliance responsibilities. Although not all inclusive, representative responsibilities of the position are listed below:
- Manage all aspects of domestic income tax compliance including tax compliance calendar, preparation and timely filing of the consolidated federal and state income, franchise and net worth tax returns, including quarterly estimated tax, extension, and the tax account reconciliation. Oversee the outsourced R&D tax credit study.
- Preparation or review of calculations supporting the domestic income tax provision calculation.
- Oversee data collection, preparation, and filing of 1099s.
- Partner with various groups within the broader tax department, corporate accounting, and treasury teams to gather data needed to support the income tax return calculations.
- Research various federal and state income tax matters.
- Oversee the W-8/W-9 process including preparing all internal W-8 forms as needed, preparing all FATCA self-certification forms requested by external 3rd parties, validating external W-8s and W-9s.
- Assist with federal CAP requirements and oversee state income tax audits and notices.
- Support the assessment and implementation of federal and state planning.
- Support the company on M&A activity including due diligence and integration.
- Support process improvement initiatives to increase overall efficiency of the domestic tax compliance process.
- Various ad-hoc projects as they arise.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or Masters of Tax preferred.
- 5+ years federal tax experience in Big 4 or comparable tax experience in a large multinational corporation.
- 1+ years of direct team management
- Ability to collaborate as part of a team including skills to train, motivate and develop staff.
- Advanced hands-on experience with CorpTax Compliance software.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel skills as well as proficiency with Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to apply and adapt gained experiences/knowledge to new situations.
- Strong oral, written, interpersonal, technical communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Experience:
- State income tax compliance, including estimate calculations, apportionment, strongly preferred
- Experience with SAP BPC and SAP ERP a plus.
This is a hybrid role. 3 days in office / 2 days remote
