The Domestic Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing the coordination and execution of domestic logistics and shipping activities. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and carriers to ensure the efficient movement of goods from origin to destination. The Logistics Coordinator will report to the Director of Operations.
Salary Range: $71,000 to $75,000 annually
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and schedule transportation activities, including trucking, shipping, and freight forwarding.
- Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers to arrange shipments and ensure delivery on time.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping label paperwork.
- Track shipments in transit and monitor delivery status to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Address any issues or delays that may arise during transportation, such as routing changes or carrier disruptions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, purchasing, and customer service, to coordinate coordination activities and address customer inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, transportation costs, and delivery performance.
- Assist in the resolution of transportation-related issues, such as damaged goods, delivery discrepancies, or customs delays.
- Stay informed about transportation regulations, industry trends, and best practices in logistics management.
- Identify new vendor opportunities and own approval process in collaboration with Director of Operations and the accounting team.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in logistics operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in organization coordination, transportation management, or a similar role is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and customs procedures is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
