Job vacancy
ING Bank NL is looking for a passionate and inspiring Architect for the Mortgages domain. The CoE Architects in Amsterdam is a vibrant place for anyone who is willing and capable of translating ING's vision into architecture designs and guides the strategy execution.
The opportunity
In Architecture we have the ambition to design the capabilities that make up the digital platform bank of tomorrow, influencing the business strategy towards an optimal execution path for delivery of a secure and reliable platform to ultimately deliver great services to our customers.
We have several opportunities within architecture where you can showcase your talent as a successful architect.
In this regard, we have an open spot for an architect who is looking for the next challenge. You will be working as an Architect for Mortgages and REF and collaborating closely with other Lending Products domain architects. Together you will deliver architectural guidance for the bank of the future according to our strategy. You will play an important role in fulfilling the promise to improve our product offering to meet our customers financial needs and accelerate digitisation and personalised experience.
The team
You will be part of the CoE Architects and work together in a small team of architects, led by one of our enterprise architects. Besides you will work closely with business colleagues, architects, feature engineers, IT managers and IT squads to create architecture results.
Roles and responsibilities
You will define and maintain the end-to-end architecture design for your domain. You will apply the architectural principles, -standards and -guidelines in describing architectures and implementation roadmaps for the upcoming quarters that are feasible to implement, but ambitious enough to move towards our strategic target architecture. Of course, you take important quality criteria, like security and reliability, into account.
Architecture governance is an important part of your job. In this context you document agreements with stakeholders on certain solutions, and deviations from architecture. Furthermore, you verify whether the solutions implemented comply with the upfront agreed architecture. In addition to the domain responsibility, you also contribute to the continuous improvement of the team and CoE Architects, so we get better every day than the day before.

You have a long-term perseverance, without becoming dogmatic or rigid.
-
You define and align (global) architecture standards.
-
You manage stakeholders up to senior management level within a domain for the scope of multiple tribes or programs.
-
You work independently and act as a self-starter to perform architecture activities for incremental changes (the design, advise and presentation of architectures and roadmaps, and the architecture guidance and validations).
-
You proactively seek collaboration with others to co-create (workshops, guiding, constraining, selling, telling) and you have the level of architecture expertise to coach and mentor other architects.

-
You use pattern recognition to assess what to do and rules to determine how to do it.
