Schedule:

Monday to Friday night shift 11:00pm - 6:00am

What you’ll do:

  • Provide focused and detailed supervision covering our evening shift
  • Consciously adheres to all Health & Safety rules/ regulation & Transport Canada mandates
  • Effectively supervises employee performance- allocating & prioritizing work assignments / Manages productivity / continuously looks for operational and cost control efficiencies
  • Provides direct leadership and supervision to staff, ensuring staff are adequately trained to perform their duties in an effective and safe manner
  • Optimizes the use of staff and equipment to meet customer service requirements
  • Customer-focused -Ensures all freight is unloaded, staged and loaded safely and timely; reports any exceptions to the Operations Manager.
  • Maintains regular communication with customers, appointment coordinators and dispatch staff regarding service/delivery performance
  • Investigate and report all damage to equipment, facilities and freight, ensuring photographs and reports are completed promptly
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe working environment at all times
  • Required to work overtime as needed.

Must Haves:

  • Minimum 3 years in the transportation, logistics or distribution sector
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a union environment
  • Strong team builder
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and works well in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple conflicting priorities
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Good computer skills required
  • Superior attention to detail required
