Role: Dock Supervisor

Schedule:
Monday to Friday night shift 11:00pm - 6:00am
What you’ll do:
- Provide focused and detailed supervision covering our evening shift
- Consciously adheres to all Health & Safety rules/ regulation & Transport Canada mandates
- Effectively supervises employee performance- allocating & prioritizing work assignments / Manages productivity / continuously looks for operational and cost control efficiencies
- Provides direct leadership and supervision to staff, ensuring staff are adequately trained to perform their duties in an effective and safe manner
- Optimizes the use of staff and equipment to meet customer service requirements
- Customer-focused -Ensures all freight is unloaded, staged and loaded safely and timely; reports any exceptions to the Operations Manager.
- Maintains regular communication with customers, appointment coordinators and dispatch staff regarding service/delivery performance
- Investigate and report all damage to equipment, facilities and freight, ensuring photographs and reports are completed promptly
- Maintains a clean, organized and safe working environment at all times
- Required to work overtime as needed.
Must Haves:
- Minimum 3 years in the transportation, logistics or distribution sector
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a union environment
- Strong team builder
- Post-secondary education preferred
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and works well in a team environment
- Ability to effectively handle multiple conflicting priorities
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Good computer skills required
- Superior attention to detail required
