Your role and impact:

As our Division OT Engineer, you will be a critical contributor to the Operations Technology team, providing terminal automation and other OT solutions to support successful operational and strategic initiatives in the Asia & Middle East region. As a strong team player, you will be in-charged of the planning, development & implementation of terminal automation in the terminals. Responsibilities:

Terminal Automation (TA) strategy, Plan/Budget and Functional Policies, Procedures  and Systems

• Contribute to strategic planning for the division Vopak Asia & Middle East for TA.
• Proactively guide and support terminals in creating TA master plans (authorship), translate these master plans into annual budget requirements and guide the terminals in raising their investment proposals.
• Manages relationships with project owners, internal customers, project team members and suppliers, in line with the Vopak Project Management methodology.
• Contribute to global standards and develop divisional standards, procedures and systems for TA.
• Adopt these standards in TA initiatives, resulting in compliance for the terminals.
• Conduct peer reviews of TA projects on adequate re-use of standards, best practices and compliance with policies.
• Ensure that critical business rules and standards are embedded in the TA solutions.

Knowledge management – Expertise and Best Practices

• Build and maintain professional know-how, make know-how available to project stakeholders, project members and suppliers and translate know-how to the specific Vopak situation.  
• Responsible for handing over project delivered solutions to the relevant support organization.
• Involve in knowledge concerning TA expertise, project approach, templates and integration with adjacent systems.
• Provide professional expertise and advice to terminal management teams of Vopak to support them in their project preparations. 

Project Management

• Contribute to project proposals and manage the project on time, budget, quality and scope.
• Act as the daily focal point for the TA project team and aligns with project owners and internal customers.
• Responsible for closing every project phase, with all deliverables at adequate quality.
• Ensure a thorough cutover with the internal customer for existing terminals, while minimizing the business continuity risks.

Automation and Process Improvements

• Responsible for automation specifications, review of supplier documents, test and acceptance procedures and implementation planning.
• Identify, analyze and propose improvements of existing processes within an organization during the specifications.
• Adopt agreed process improvements in the automation designs and embed them in terminal implementation plan.
• Responsible for designing and recommending cost effective and fit-for-purpose solutions.

Requirements:

• Degree in BE (technical), with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in TA.
• Knowledge of the business activities and processes in terminal operations preferred.
• Knowledge of planning and scheduling processes.
• Knowledge of distributed control systems (Emerson / Yokogawa are preferences).
• Knowledge of batch packages.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing and Execution Systems (MES) and batch packages.
• Knowledge of the Industrial automation standards ISA 88 and ISA 95.
• Acquainted with improvement methodologies like LEAN and Business Process Management
• Affinity with IT.
• Project management experience, preferably in a chemical storage or processing plant.
• Willing to travel up to 40%.
