What You’ll Be Doing:
Seeking a Principal Software Architect to lead high-impact projects, design scalable systems, and drive technical innovation. Ideal for a visionary with expertise in software development, architecture, and leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Pioneering Technology Roadmaps: Lead the development of long-term technology roadmaps that anticipate and incorporate emerging technologies, market shifts, and future business needs, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of industry innovation.
- Enterprise-Wide Architectural Coherence: Ensure architectural coherence and integration across all business units, platforms, and technologies, driving consistency and eliminating silos in a complex and rapidly evolving technical environment.
- Global Standards and Best Practices: Establish and maintain global architectural standards and best practices that not only meet current demands but are also adaptable to future challenges, ensuring they are adopted across all levels of Application Engineering.
- Cross-Domain Innovation Leadership: Spearhead cross-domain innovation initiatives, identifying synergies between disparate technology stacks and domains to create unified, scalable, secure and innovative solutions that provide a competitive edge.
- Executive-Level Strategic Advising: Serve as a key strategic advisor to Tech executives, providing deep technical insights that directly influence business strategy, investment decisions, and the company’s competitive positioning in the market.
- Industry Thought Leadership: Represent the organization as a thought leader in healthcare tech forums, conferences, and technical communities, contributing to the advancement of the field and enhancing the company’s reputation as a leader in technology.
- Risk Management in Complex Systems: Architect solutions that proactively address and mitigate risks associated with complex, mission-critical systems, ensuring reliability, security, and performance at a global scale, even under the most challenging conditions.
Requirements:
- Proven Leadership in Global Architecture: Minimum of 15 years of experience in software architecture, with at least 10 years in a leadership role driving enterprise-wide architectural strategies across global, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Deep Healthcare Domain Knowledge: Minimum of 8 years in a technical leadership role in a highly complex healthcare ecosystem, preferably in a large-payor environment.
- Expertise in Cutting-Edge Technologies: Deep expertise in a broad range of emerging and established technologies (e.g., AI/ML, cloud-native architectures, big data, microservices, etc.), with a proven track record of successfully implementing these technologies in large-scale, mission-critical systems.
- Mastery of Complex System Design: Demonstrated mastery in designing and implementing highly complex, distributed systems that support millions of users, with a focus on scalability, security, and performance.
- Strategic Business Acumen: Strong business acumen with experience advising senior leadership on technical strategies that drive revenue growth, market differentiation, and competitive advantage.
- Cross-Domain Technical Expertise: Extensive experience working across multiple technology domains, including cloud computing, big data, cybersecurity, and DevOps, with the ability to integrate and innovate across these areas.
- Advanced Academic and Professional Credentials: A Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a top-tier institution, coupled with advanced certifications, and a portfolio of successful, large-scale architectural implementations.
Technical Requirements:
We require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.

The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $160,000 - 200,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus component that would be dependent on pre-defined performance factors. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
