WHAT YOU WILL DO

As the Director, Software Development, you will play a key role in overseeing the development and delivery of innovative software solutions, ensuring seamless execution from zero to one. You will be responsible for managing third-party vendors, aligning development efforts with business objectives, and ensuring the successful release of deliverables. With a focus on Web3 integration, you will guide blockchain and decentralized technology implementations where applicable. This role requires a balance of technical leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on project oversight, ensuring that all software development efforts meet quality, security, and compliance standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, product, technical project managers, and leadership to drive execution, mitigate risks, and maintain alignment across all initiatives. 

Vendor & Development Management  

• Oversee and manage third-party vendors, including software development and UI/UX partners, ensuring alignment with company goals.  

• Act as a liaison for third-party development vendors by distributing product requirements, managing timelines and milestones, and ensuring deliverables meet expectations.  

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to third-party development teams, fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and adherence to best practices.   

• Ensure Web3 integration and scalability where applicable, guiding blockchain and decentralized technology implementations.  

• Manage the full project lifecycle, from ideation to deployment, ensuring development efforts are delivered on time and meet company standards.  

• Collaborate with technical project managers to allocate resources effectively and drive project success.  

• Ensure comprehensive product documentation is produced to maintain clarity for both internal and external stakeholders.   

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Issue Resolution  
  

• Bridge technical and non-technical teams, ensuring alignment across all product-related initiatives.  

• Work closely with third-party developers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.  

• Regularly report to leadership, providing updates on project progress, risks, and strategic recommendations.  

• Ensure compliance with governance, risk, and regulatory requirements, working closely with the company’s Compliance/Legal department.  

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

 To thrive in this role, you have experience in startup software environments, where change happens quickly and often. You are a delivery orchestrator with a proven track record of managing accelerated timelines while adapting to evolving business needs.  Success in this role requires a strong ability to manage large third-party vendors responsible for developing sophisticated solutions. You should be comfortable balancing multiple responsibilities, often wearing many hats as needed. A proactive and diligent approach is essential to ensure alignment across stakeholders and development efforts. Additionally, expertise in navigating complex technical ecosystems is crucial, as you will be collaborating closely with both internal teams and external partners to drive successful outcomes. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a STEM-related field is required, though equivalent industry experience will also be considered. You have 8-10 years of experience in software development leadership, technical operations, or a related field, with a strong track record in “zero to one” software development efforts, from concept to MVP release. Blockchain experience is essential, with a deep understanding of Web3 technologies and decentralized architectures.
