Position Overview:

Beam is looking for a highly motivated and collaborative strategic marketer to join our growing Product & Portfolio Strategy team.  The Director/Senior Director, Hematology Product Strategy will be accountable for developing the product strategies for Beam’s ESCAPE (Engineered Stem Cell Antibody Paired Evasion) targeted conditioning and in vivo platforms.  The successful candidate is able to translate complex science into a strategic vision, conduct scenario planning, and will work cross functinoally to shape development plans and clinical trial designs that deliver differentiated assets with a strong value proposition.  This role will also lead the strategic efforts in mapping out Beam’s immunology and oncology platform, partnering closely with the head of Hematology research and development and includes business development activities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides future market vision and treatment landscapes for hemoglobinopathies in priority markets
  • Generates customer and market insights, both current and long-term, into the hemoglobinopathy and genetic medicines treatment landscape, stakeholder needs and treatment decision making
  • Owns the development and refinement of the target product profiles (TPPs) for Beam’s targeted conditioning (ESCAPE) and in vivo platforms
  • Conducts scenario planning for multiple technology and development options
  • Collaborates with other functions (e.g. clinical development, medical affairs, market access, regulatory) in shaping development plan and clinical trial designs to support differentiated value propositions
  • Develops strategy for creating an immunology and oncology platform inclusive of partnerships in collaboration with R&D
  • Conducts Advisory Boards and engages HCPs to seek feedback on asset strategies
  • Works with BD on technology access and regional expansion
  • Business case, forecast and long-range financial planning
  • Budget management
  • Competitive monitoring

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in a relevant academic field; MBA, MD, PhD, or other graduate degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum 10 years business experience within the pharma/biotech/biopharma space
  • Outstanding strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience on drug development program teams highly preferred
  • Experience in global strategic marketing highly preferred
  • Skilled at navigating ambiguity and developing solutions in the absence of complete information
  • Excellent verbal, written and executive communication skills; ability to make the complex clear
  • Experience with cell and gene therapies highly preferred
  • Strong business and financial capabilities
  • Role is based in Cambridge, MA, or hybrid
  • Requires up to 25% travel, predominantly US with limited international travel.
