Position Summary:
We are seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Product Management to lead the strategy, development, and commercialization of our Alamar’s NULISA™ Software Suite for both the Research Use Only (RUO) and In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) markets. In this role, you will serve as the product champion, developing the product strategy and roadmap, overseeing the development process, launching new products, and driving the success of our software products. A key focus will be enhancing user interfaces and user experiences to meet the needs of our customers and improve their workflows.
This position requires a strong track record of leadership in product management, as well as the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams including R&D, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support. You must have extensive experience in both RUO and IVD markets, a deep understanding of the life sciences industry, and the ability to translate customer needs into impactful product features.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the full software product lifecycle from concept through commercialization, including defining product vision, requirements, and go-to-market strategy for both RUO and IVD software solutions.
- Focus on user interface and experience to ensure the development of intuitive, customer-friendly software.
- Drive voice-of-customer research to define customer pain points, needs, and expectations, and translate those insights into actionable product features.
- Collaborate with R&D, Sales, Program Management, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure product development aligns with business objectives and customer requirements.
- Manage product launches, including coordination with marketing teams, sales training, and post-launch support.
- Analyze market trends, customer demands, competitive products, and regulatory requirements to identify opportunities for differentiation and market expansion.
- Guide and mentor other product managers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Manage project scope, budget, and timelines to deliver products on schedule and within budget.
- Engage with key stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment across teams and resolve any conflicts that arise.
- Must have excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation techniques.
- Up to 25% Travel (international and domestic) is required.
Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
- Deep understanding of life science software tools for RUO and Dx market.
- Requires experience in creating and launching software suites from concept to successful launch.
- Requires knowledge and skills normally acquired through completing a bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in life sciences.
- Requires 10+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree (PhD Preferred) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Requires a strong business acumen with an ability to develop business models.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to influence without authority to drive vision and mission of the software strategies.
What We Do
Alamar Biosciences is powering precision proteomics with automated, high throughput solutions for ultra-high sensitivity protein analysis across a range of multiplex levels. Our proprietary NULISA™ Chemistry utilizes a novel sequential capture and release method that significantly reduces background signal and increases the sensitivity and dynamic range compared with standard approaches and allows both qPCR and NGS readouts. The NULISAseq Inflammation Panel contains 200+ important markers related to immune and inflammatory diseases and will run on our ARGO™ System.
