The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for accelerating the firm's data and analytics journey. This includes ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of the company's data, as well as leveraging this data to generate insights and drive decision-making. The CDAO is also responsible for developing and implementing solutions that support the firm's commercial goals by harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to develop new products, improve productivity, and enhance risk management effectively and responsibly.

As an Executive Director at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Sector, AIML & Data Platforms team, you will spearhead the design and delivery of cutting-edge, scalable technology products. Your role will be pivotal in driving strategic business impact, fostering innovation, and leading cross-functional teams to success.
As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO), you will lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. In this role you will utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads the architecture and design of complex data management platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals and technological advancements.
  • Provides visionary leadership in the adoption and integration of AWS technologies to enhance scalability and performance.
  • Drives innovation by exploring and implementing out-of-the-box solutions that address complex business challenges.
  • Oversees the delivery of large-scale projects, coordinating efforts across multiple teams and stakeholders to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
  • Mentors and guide technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence in software engineering practices.
  • Collaborates with product, technology, and data partners to develop and execute strategic data engineering initiatives.
  • Champions the development of supportable and scalable products, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technology trends.
  • Lead initiatives involving graph databases, such as Neo4j, to enhance data relationships and insights.
  • Oversees the design and implementation of entitlement systems, ensuring robust security and access control measures.
  • Drives database design and performance tuning efforts to optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing efficiency.
  • Implements controls and compliance requirements by liaising with the Corporate Technology Controls (CTC) teams to ensure all required control procedures are being followed.


Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  • Proven track record in technical leadership, including resource management and strategic project delivery.
  • Experience in solution architecture, with the ability to design and implement innovative technology solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all organizational levels, including senior executives.
  • Expertise in AWS technologies and cloud infrastructure, with experience in Kubernetes and other cloud platforms.
  • Strong data architecture skills, with experience in building enterprise-scale data solutions.
  • Proficiency in traditional databases (Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server) and strong SQL skills.


Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Understanding of financial markets and experience with financial data.
  • Experience with graph databases such as Neo4j and AWS managed services like EKS and MSK.
  • Experience in building monitoring tools using Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Experience in developing entitlement systems and ensuring robust security measures.
