Title: Director / Senior Director - Client Portfolio Manager - Global Private Finance
Location: Charlotte, NC
Barings Client Portfolio Managers work in close partnership and coordination with investment teams and sales as well as other stakeholders within the organization as subject matter experts, focusing on business development, client servicing and product development for certain investment strategies.
Barings' Global Private Finance Team is seeking a Client Portfolio Manager. This position will be located in [Charlotte] and will report to the Head of Client Portfolio Management, Private Assets.
Primary Responsibilities
Take lead Client Portfolio Management role within our Global Private Finance business (with particular focus on the distribution and management of our private credit franchises):
- Serving as a primary business development liaison for Barings' Global Private Finance platform
- Communicating investment strategies internally and externally with the goal of growing assets under management in our private credit funds
- Providing scheduled and ad-hoc updates on all aspects of the global private credit market including investment performance, market levels etc.
- Serving as an active participant in meetings with current and prospective clients
- Responding in a timely manner to client and prospect requests
- Attending investment team meetings
- Participate in and coordinate product development initiatives for the Global Private Finance business at Barings
- New fund launches
- Other new strategy ideas using our core NA/European/Asia Pacific private credit and cross platform origination platforms
- Oversee the creation of all marketing material including fact sheets and pitch books for relevant fund offerings.
- Work with Compliance on approval of all materials
- Review reporting materials for existing clients and respond to client reporting inquiries on a timely basis
- Create Thought Leadership materials, in cooperation with investment staff and Barings Marketing staff
Qualifications
- Four-year college degree required
- Strong and extensive experience in either an investment management or investment specialist role, preferably within the Alternative/Private asset industry.
- Strong proficiency with general Fixed Income topics
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
