THE ROLE

PROPERTY OVERVIEW
Cloudland at McLemore Resort is a new Curio Collection by Hilton hotel set on the cliff-edge atop Lookout Mountain, GA.  The 245 room hotel includes over 20,000 sq. ft. of beautifully appointed meeting space, most with floor to ceiling windows overlooking McLemore Cove.  Four onsite restaurants and a clubhouse restaurant, a relaxing spa and infinity cliffside pool along with hiking trails and two world class golf courses round out the experience for guests and groups.

POSITION PROFILE 
This is your opportunity to step in at the beginning of the next great destination golf resort and lead a team of dedicated hotel sales professionals.  If you are a director of sales and looking to take a step up or a top producer with an established book of business looking for your chance to lead a team this could be a fit for you.  Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities for Cloudland at McLemore Resort and leadership and development of the hotel sales team itself.  Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Strategy and working in conjunction with that position the director of sales will develop and implement a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of sales goals and profitability to exceed revenue matrixes, gain market share, and grow new account business while retaining existing clients.  #INDcloud

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

·        Develop a sales strategy to analyze historical, current and future hotel/market trends and create a strategy to balance hotel objectives and maximize revenue potential.

·        Identify business opportunities by being aware of prospective clients and evaluating their position in the marketplace to leverage the sales relationship to maximize revenue.

·        Target high revenue sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program, in accordance with goals established to penetrate new markets.

·        Establish a sales team travel schedule and deployment to industry events while keeping within the available budget.

·        Work with third parties like Beyond Collection, Teneo, Helms Brisco and Hilton Worldwide Sales teams to identify and contract new business.

·        Provide timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.

·        Review and approve all sales agreements for turnover to group rooms coordinator.

·        Manage daily business reviews with sales team, maximizing revenues and identifying key opportunities for group business.

·        Supervise lead distribution and ensure that leads are responded to in a timely manner by sales team.

·        Maximize current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue growth.

·        Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to evaluate current/potential markets and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share then monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan.

·        Develops customer profiles and maintains an effective trace system, including trace dates and references, to best meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues.

·        Schedule conventions and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel and departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the Sales office and prospective clients.

·        Maintain well-documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file management system to serve client and employer in the most expedient, organized, and knowledgeable manner.

·        Develop strong customer relationships through frequent communication and the use of professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interaction.

·        Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products and services to include marketing strategy, sales techniques, and tactics to capitalize on profit margins.

·        Provide an environment where development of the team for the team to be successful in achieving goals is present.

·        Promptly follows-up on all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner.

·        Focus on revenue-producing activity and selling time by a strategic plan that maximizes direct sales efforts.

·        Achieve activity goals as established by management and complete all reports and assignments in an accurate and timely fashion.

·        Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community.

·        Exhibit a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintain open communications with all co-workers and managers for the best overall performance of the hotel and champion a service and hospitable culture that promote a healthy and productive format of serving others with excellence.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Education: Four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience.

Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in a related management role. Sales experience at a golf resort or a combination of hotel and golf sales experience preferred.  Working knowledge of Delphi will be necessary.  Additional systems and use will include profitsword, Microsoft excel, Cendyn, Cvent, Knowland, OnQ and R&I.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform critical analysis and manage wide-range of information. Extensive knowledge of negotiating and sales procedures associated with the hotel industry. Excellent oral, written and presentation skills sufficient to produce sales and marketing communication that properly reflect the Foundation Image. Listen effectively. Ability to delegate, manage manpower and organize complex projects and establishes priorities consistent with department/hotel objectives. Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
