WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Director of Risk and Safety is responsible for supporting the Legal team at Dreamscape’s Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. The position will directly support the Legal Counsel with mitigating risk through various risk management efforts as it relates to insurance, worker’s compensation, safety initiatives, and risk management investigations. This role will also support with administrative functions, emergency and first responder activity.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Maintains exceptional customer service at every interaction.

Administer loss prevention policies in the organization.

Manage financial operations of the department including budgeting, forecasting, invoice processing.

Manage the insurance renewal process, including risk identification, collection of underwriting data and working with brokers to prepare for insurance placement.

Prepares and maintains monthly OSHA reports, legal and risk management files, and manages legal databases and file repositories.

Proactively identifies potential risks and severity levels across department processes, and investigates reports and subpoenas as issued.

Owns affidavits, legal correspondence, insurance claims and Safety Committee internal reports.

Leads safety orientation and annual trainings according to position and OSHA requirements.

Assists with facilitating and maintaining the contract routing process for the property.

Conducts walkthroughs, reviews SOPs and other processes in accordance with established internal controls.

Files documentation for insurance programs such as liability, property, and workers’ compensation.

Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does have direct supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
-
Minimum five (5) years of related safety and/or risk experience in a casino or government agency, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational skills, solution-driven, analytical thinker.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Proactive with an attention to details.

Associate or bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the field
-
At least 21 years of age.
PREFERRED

Previous experience in gaming or hospitality industry preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
-
Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, gaming, and local regulations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
-
Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.

Must regularly lift and/move up to 25 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
