The position
In your capacity as a Director of R&ED Finance, key responsibilities will include:

  • Director position with a team of 4 Finance Partners.
  • Drive finance partnering and value creation in the responsible SVP/CVP areas under your responsibility through coaching and leading the team of Finance Partners
  • Responsible for the overall strategic resource allocation process for R&ED, both on an ongoing basis supporting strategic decisions as well as during the planning processes AB and RE.
  • Provide guidance and drive interactions, together with VP of R&ED Finance, towards Executive management, mainly towards CFO and CSO.


Furthermore, you are expected to partner with key stakeholders at senior managerial (SVP & CVP) level, to support strategic discussions with financial insights, drive the financial agenda in general, ensure strong resource (re)allocation within areas of responsibility while also leading and motivating a high-performing team.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you'll bring the following set of skills and experience:

  • Master's degree in economics, Finance or similar.
  • Ample experience and a proven track record in business partnering and financial management.
  • Project Management experience.
  • A solid understanding within the field of accounting and finance.
  • Fluency in both written and verbal English, with excellent communication skills.


As a person, you will utilise your excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills to help present complex financial matters in a simple way. Proactive, self-driven and a pleasantly persistent team player with great analytical and problem-solving skills which are key attributes for this position. Prior R&D (Finance) experience is not required, but a general experience working FP&A will be an advantage.
About the department
R&ED Finance is part of Novo Nordisk Business Finance and is responsible for the financial management of the R&ED organisation and projects in our R&ED pipeline. In R&ED Finance you will be part of a young and ambitious team consisting of around 20 dedicated employees in Denmark, supported by colleagues from Global Business Services in India. Our overall ambition is to create value through Finance Partnering to our stakeholders by combining strong financial competencies with a solid understanding of the business in which we operate. To do this, we collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation. We invest significant resources in developing our employees through close sparring, frequent feedback and by giving inspiring tasks and a high degree of responsibility.
