Job Title

Global Director QualityAs the Quality Director, will oversee six (6) sites across the US, Japan, and Korea. You are responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating a quality assurance program designed to ensure continuous improvement of products, processes, and services consistent with established standards. The quality assurance program is designed to:
1. Provide CoorsTek a competitive advantage in the marketplace and create value for customers
2. Provide customers confidence in CoorsTek’s ability to meet their expectations 3. Reduce costs through prevention-based systems and measurements
4. Facilitate continuous improvement in the business systems to provide CoorsTek management confidence in the above.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Participate with other top management team members in formulating and establishing strategic organizational policies and operating procedures for the company.

• Develop, implement, and coordinate through support staff and managers, quality assurance program to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products, processes and services.

• Analyze, evaluate, and present information concerning factors, such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, economic trends and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of the management team.

• Formulate and oversee maintenance of quality control objectives and coordination of objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
• Interpret company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices.

• Oversee investigation and adjustments to customer complaints regarding quality.

• Support and create effective teams, units, and environments.

• Develop and promote organizational strategy and vision.

• Complete objectives through managers or senior exempt specialists who have significant latitude.

• Oversee direction set for the Quality Assurance group.

• Work is received in the form of objectives based on organizational goals and company policy.

• Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organization’s objectives.

• Responsibility/accountability over the unit/department for budgets, schedules and planning.

• Ensure that quality standards are met or exceeded.

• Oversee and participate in continuous improvement efforts. Support and help to implement new ideas.

• Interface with customers to develop/implement systems that create customer value.

• Ensure compatibility of the quality assurance system to other support functions such as Human Resources, EHS and Financial.

• Will hire, train, evaluate manager performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field, Engineering or technical degree preferred, plus 10+ years related work experience.

• Extensive managerial experience.

• Experience managing multiple locations across different countries and time zones highly preferred.

• Manufacturing experience highly preferred.

• Preferred industry experience in Semiconductor, Aerospace & Defense, Automotive or similar industries.

Preferred Certifications:

• ASQ

• Lead Auditor

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Possesses skills with Quality Management systems, Quality Engineering, and project management.

• Proficiency with FAI/PPAP, FMEA, and Process Control Charts.

• Strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).

• Knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis) to drive continuous improvement and resolve complex manufacturing issues.

• Experience with ISO 9001.

• Minitab/JMP experience highly preferred.

• Very effective communication skills.

• Very high math skills.

• High attention to detail.

• Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Role Specific Details:

Location: Hillsboro, OR or Oak Ridge, TN

Travel: Will require domestic and international travel, approx. 20%
